Getting to know each other!

For new clients, a 15-minute Zoom consultation is required to get to know one another before scheduling an in-person Reiki session. During our time together, we will discuss the intake form and determine a date/time that works best for the client and practitioner.

Existing Clients (In-Person Reiki Treatment)

This treatment will restore the body and mind by establishing balance and harmony throughout one’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual energy planes.

Existing Clients (Distance Reiki Treatment)

Distance healing allows people to receive the benefits of treatment if they are unable to be physically present. The practitioner connects with the recipient’s energy fields, and Reiki is channeled and transmitted. This has been proven to be just as effective as in-person treatments.

 FAQs

  • Reiki is a simple, gentle, non-invasive method of hands-on energy transfer. Energy flows from the hands of the Reiki practitioner into the cells of the person being treated, re-establishing balance and harmony on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual planes so the natural function is restored through harmonizing and optimizing body/mind processes.

Reiki was developed in the 20th century by Mikao Usui. While on a meditation retreat on Mt. Kurama, a holy mountain in Japan, Mikao Usui became aware of Reiki energy and discovered that it enhanced his healing abilities. The term comes from two Japanese words, “Rei,” meaning “universal,” and “Ki,” meaning “life force energy.” Reiki can be loosely translated as “universal life-force energy.”

  • For new clients, a 15-minute Zoom consultation is required to get to know one another before scheduling an in-person or distance Reiki session. Before the consultation, you will be required to complete an intake form. During our time together, we will discuss the intake form and any questions and additional information you want to share. Upon completion of the info session, the scheduling protocol will be discussed.

  • In-person sessions will last up to 75 minutes, and distance sessions will last 45 to 60 minutes. If this is your first session, you can set aside 90 minutes for it in case more time is needed.

  • You will rest on a massage table on your back with shoes, glasses, and heavy jewelry removed. Unlike a massage, you will remain fully clothed for the entire session, so you need to be comfortable. Cell phones and other devices should be powered off or in do-not-disturb mode, with notifications silenced, so there are no interruptions during your session.

  • Distance Reiki sessions are typically done in silence during an audio-only call. It’s recommended that you use earbuds/headsets or have your phone on speakers on do-not-disturb once the call is initiated. You will be called at your scheduled appointment, and there will be a brief discussion before you are guided through breathing techniques that help ease you into receiving Reiki. Before your session, reserve a quiet, comfortable, and peaceful space where you can wind down, lay back, and are least likely to be interrupted.

Though not required, you are more than welcome to incorporate candles, essential oils, incense, calming background music, or anything else you feel will set an atmosphere that helps foster a meditative mindset.

Open yourself further by releasing expectations or limiting beliefs and letting go as best you can. Allow yourself to just...be. If you are open to it, we will discuss your experienceon after the sessi.

  • The experience of Reiki treatment is unique for every individual, but a feeling of deep relaxation is universal. One may feel a sense of calm and mental clarity and sleep well after Reiki. Some feel more tired than usual; the body’s natural response as it begins to restore energetic balance after treatment. It is also possible for the benefits of the healing to unfold gradually as the day or week progresses. Observe how Reiki makes you feel and whether you are more relaxed after the session.

It is recommended that you drink water for hydration after Reiki treatments.

  • Reiki is not a religion. It is a philosophy of care that teaches practitioners to relate to a person’s core or essence rather than their personality, to listen without passing judgment, to be willing not to know or understand the “whys” underlying a patient’s symptoms, and not to view a patient’s response to Reiki treatment as a personal achievement. The practitioner is a conduit for the universal life-force energy but does not control the process.
